Schwanz wins 1500m at Stanford with record time

Senior set the Fresno State 1500m record and top time in the NCAA in 2017 on Friday night.
STANFORD, Calif. – In her first meet of the outdoor season, Fresno State senior Annemarie Schwanz broke her school record in the 1500 meters en route to winning the race at the Stanford Invitational on Friday evening with a time of 4:13.82.
Schwanz's time was not only enough to win the race, besting Providence's Millie Paladino by nearly a second, it is currently the fastest time in the NCAA this season. Only two athletes this season had previously run a 1500-meter race under four minutes and 20 seconds, but the top 10 in Friday's event all finished under that mark.
