FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team defeated Holy Names University 6-1 Friday night.
'Dogs win the doubles point
Fresno State swept doubles to earn the doubles point.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into singles.
Fresno State set the tone in singles
Jeremy Moser gave Fresno State a 2-0 lead when he defeated his opponent at the No. 5 spot 6-4, 6-0.
Holy Names put its first dent in the score board when Bailey Gong fell at the No. 6 position 6-1, 6-2.
The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead when Henrique Osorio bested his opponent at the No. 4 position 6-1, 6-1.
The match was clinched at the No. 2 spot when Zdenek Derkas defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-2.
At the No. 1 position, Xander Veys bested his opponent (6-3, 6-2) to give Fresno State a 5-1 lead.
The Bulldogs took their sixth point at the No. 3 position when Mantas Bugailiskis defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-6(2).
