FRESNO, Calif. – Coming off a thrilling victory in the inaugural home opener, Fresno State water polo's season continues this weekend in Davis at the Aggie Shootout. The Bulldogs' slate includes four games, featuring matchups against Cal State East Bay and No. 10 UC Davis, as well as an exhibition clash with Team China. The 'Dogs will also get their first look at a conference opponent in Santa Clara.
"This weekend will be a good test for us as we have had some time to train after our initial two weeks of competition," head coach Natalie Benson said. "We will have a good baseline game with Davis, and see where we have improved against an opponent we have played already this season."
BULLDOG BREAKDOWN
-Fresno State got its second victory of the season last week in the inaugural home opener against Fresno Pacific. The Bulldogs led 12-3 at the half and went into cruise control on the way to a 16-6 win.
-Isabella Magno had a stellar game, scoring four goals on six shots to lead the Bulldog attack. She also tallied three steals.
-Emily Nicholson also had a standout performance. She scored twice, drew two exclusions and tied for the team-high with four steals.
-Claire Schade logged a hat trick and also swiped a team-high four steals.
-Madelynn Garcia put together a solid night in the cage. The sophomore keeper finished with 10 saves and three assists (led the 'Dogs).

The Broncos own a 3-4 record, and have won their last two games against Sonoma State and Cal State East Bay, respectively. While this game will not count as a conference matchup, it will be the first time Fresno State gets a look at a fellow Golden Coast Conference team.
Sunday, Feb. 18: vs. Team China – 9 a.m. PT (exhibition)
The Bulldogs will face off against Team China in an exhibition game for the second time this season. The 'Dogs kept their first matchup with the Chinese National Team close through two periods back in January at the Gaucho Invitational, but eventually fell 13-6.
Sunday, Feb. 18: vs. No. 10 UC Davis – 12:30 p.m. PT
The Aggies are 7-5 in 2018 and have won four of their last five. All seven of UCD's victories have come against ranked opponents, including two over Golden Coast Conference teams in Loyola Marymount and San Diego State. Fresno State scored 10 goals on UC Davis in the teams' first matchup, but also gave up 19 goals.
