Ashford sees 49-game on-base streak come to end at CSUN
Junior outfielder Zach Ashford's 49-game on-base streak came to an end on Tuesday afternoon at CSUN as he went 0-for-5 being held off the basepaths for the first time this season. It was the third-longest active streak in the nation as Ashford's 20-game hitting streak also came to an end as well.
Dozen games against Big West foes
With four games against Big West opponents this week, the 'Dogs will finish with 12 games against teams from the Big West this season. Fresno St. is 6-3 thus far playing UC Riverside once, UC Santa Barbara twice and Long Beach State, CSUN and Hawai'i three times each.
Offense among nation's best
With only two weekend series remaining in the regular season, the 'Dogs find themselves among the national leaders in four offensive categories ranking in the top 25 in each of them. The 'Dogs are No. 15 in hits (497), No. 21 in batting average (.298), No. 22 in doubles (99) and No. 23 in slugging percentage (.453).

Presno goes yard
Freshman catcher Zach Presno hit his seventh home run of the season in the top of the ninth on Sunday at Nevada nearly helping the 'Dogs rally for a comeback win. His seven home runs for a true freshman are the most by a Bulldog rookie since Dusty Robinson smacked 15 in 2009.
Burks swiping bases
Junior second baseman Jeremiah Burks stole his 11th base of the season on Saturday at Nevada. It is the most bases a Bulldog has stolen since Aaron Judge swiped 12 as a junior in 2013.
Double Double
With four more doubles against the Matadors on Tuesday, the 'Dogs now have 99 on the season and with one more double against the Rainbow Warriors will go over 100 for the third straight season.

Sacrificing for the team
Playing a National League style of play this season, the 'Dogs have to manufacture runs in creative ways and one of those ways is through sacrifice bunts as the 'Dogs have 40 on the season to lead the MW and rank 18th in the nation. Senior shortstop Korby Batesole leads the club and Mountain West with 12, ranking seventh in the country.
That's got to hurt!
The 'Dogs have hit 73 hit batters to rank ninth in the nation in hit by pitchers and is the most hit by pitches for Fresno State since 2013. All 13 Bulldog pitchers have hit at least one batter with Ryan Jensen leading the team with 11 to rank second in the MW.

Batesole closing in on 800 career wins
Head coach Mike Batesole continues to close in on a career milestone currently sitting at 796 career wins and is only four wins shy of 800 in his career. Now in his 16th season at the helm of the Bulldogs, Batesole has won 540 games at Fresno State and 256 at CSUN from 1996-2002. With three more wins, Batesole will have his 13th season of at least 30 wins at Fresno State and 19th overall in his 23 years as a Division I head coach.

The 'Dogs close out the regular season at home next week hosting UNLV (30-19, 11-13 MW) for Senior Weekend Thursday through Saturday.
