- Fresno State closes out its nonconference portion of the 2018 regular season schedule with Toledo this Saturday before starting conference play on the road at Nevada on Oct. 6.
- After three-straight home games, Toledo travels to Fresno State for its first road game of 2018 while the Bulldogs will host their first game in 28 days.
- This will be the fourth all-time contest against Toledo in a series that started in 2005. The Bulldogs won the first-ever pairing, and again on the road in 2008. Fresno State's first loss to Toledo was in 2016.

- Fresno State snapped a streak of 10-straight losses to Power 5 opponents with its 38-14 win against UCLA. The Bulldogs' previous P5 win was over Colorado in 2012.
- Fresno State was picked to win the West Division in the 2018 preseason poll released by the Mountain West (selected by the media). The predicted championship game pits the Bulldogs against Boise State for a second consecutive year.
