'Dogs finish the weekend with 4-3 win over LMU

LOS ANGELES– The Fresno State men's tennis team picked up its second win of the weekend with a 4-3 win over Loyola Marymount, Sunday afternoon.Â

Fresno State improves to 2-1 on the season.Â

DOUBLESÂ
Angus Bradshaw and Mantas Bugailiskis played No. 1, Cagatay Soke and Cem Erturk played No. 2 and Henrique Osorio teamed up with Zdenek Derkas at the No. 3 position.Â

LMU took wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to secure the doubles point, taking a 1-0 lead into singles.Â

SINGLES
The Bulldogs sported a new lineup with Derkas at No.1, Bradshaw at No.2, Osorio at No. 3, Bugailiskis at No. 4, Jeremy Moser at No. 5 and Soke at No. 6.Â

Fresno State tied the match 1-1 when Bugailiskis defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-3. LMU retook the lead when Osorio fell to Nava in three sets 6-3, 1-6, 6-0. Derkas tied the match 2-2 when he defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-4 .Â

The Lions retook the lead with a win at the No. 2 when Bradshaw fell in a close three-set match 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. LMU was one point away from winning the match with two courts still playing.Â

Fresno State rallied with a win from Moser coming back from a one-set deficit (6-7, 6-1, 6-2), to tie the match 3-3.Â

The match came down to the No. 5 position. Soke clinched the match for the Bulldogs with a tiebreaker win over his opponent 7-6, 7-6.Â

What's next– Fresno State will host Air Force for its Mountain West opener on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m. PT.Â
