FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's soccer team recorded its second consecutive shutout with a 2-0 win over Nevada in the Soccer and Lacrosse Stadium, on Thursday night.
"We had a slow start tonight and Nevada came out strong," head coach Brian Zwaschka said. "We weathered the storm and were able to pick up a late goal in the first half. We were able to regroup at the half and make sure we stuck to the game plan. I was really happy with the way the team responded, we had a dominate second half."
Lorena Montanes gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead going into halftime with a late goal in the first half. Fresno State held Nevada to only two shots in the second half, combined with another Bulldog goal from Ele Avery propelled the Bulldogs to victory.
Fresno State improves to 8-4-2 (4-3-1 MW) this season.
