Wright earns Big 12 Co-Wrestler of the Week honors

IRVING, Texas - For the second time in program history, Fresno State Wrestling has a Big 12 Wrestler of the Week after redshirt sophomore 157-pounder Jacob Wright was named the Big 12 Co-Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday.
Wright joins 2019 All-American Josh Hokit in earning Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors after the Clovis native earned the 'Dogs first-ever Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honor on Jan. 14, 2019.
The lone Bulldog to win all three of his duals at the AFC Duals/Battle on the Midway in San Diego last weekend, the redshirt sophomore picked up a 9-6 win over Garrett Model of Wisconsin, a 15-8 win over Scout Skidgel of Navy and wrapped up his day with a 7-2 win over No. 23 Lucas Weiland of Army.
The Dinuba native, who went 23-11 as a redshirt freshman in 2018-19 and finished fifth at 157 lbs. at the 2019 Big 12 Championship, outscored his opponents 31-16 and finished with 10 takedowns on the day.
