Darkness pauses play at Rebel Beach Invitational

LAS VEGAS – The Fresno State women's golf team got its 2019 spring season underway Monday at the Rebel Beach Invitational, but did not compete the scheduled two rounds at Spanish Trail Golf Club as darkness crept in on the field before finishing round two.

All 16 teams will restart at 8:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday morning and go right into the final round once the remaining holes from round two are completed.

Fresno State currently sits in 10th place and the five 'Dogs in action have anywhere from two to three holes left on their respective round two scorecards.

Individually for the Bulldogs, Jessica Hall and Brigitte Thibault own top 15 scores out of the 86 individuals in action.

Hall is tied for 12th pairing together a team-best 1-over-par 73 first round and a 2-over-par score with three holes remaining in the second round. Thibault shot a 4-over-par 76 in the opening round and is even-par through 16 holes in round two, which places her tied for 14th.

Heading into the Tuesday's action, Kelsi Stieler is 14-over-par (T-64th), Harriet Lynch is 15-over-par (T-66th) and Kristin Simonsen is 16-over-par (T-69th). Stieler and Lynch each carded an opening round 8-over-par 80 while Simonsen shot a 9-over-par 81 in the first round.
