Chamberlain earns bronze medal with Team USA at 2019 Freestyle World Cup

Fresno State Wrestling assistant coach and Valley Regional Training athlete Jason Chamberlain helped lead Team USA to a bronze medal finish at the 2019 Freestyle World Cup on Sunday.
YAKUTSK, Russia – Fresno State Wrestling assistant coach and Valley Regional Training athlete Jason Chamberlain helped lead Team USA to a bronze medal finish at the 2019 Freestyle World Cup on Sunday.
Chamberlain, who competes at 70 kg/154.3 lbs., went 2-2 in the tournament as Team USA won three of the four duals.
Opening up competition on Saturday with pool play action, Chamberlain helped USA down Georgia with a 10-0 technical fall win over Mirza Skhulukhia. Moving on to face Iran in the second round, the Springville, Utah native fell to Meisam Nasiri by a narrow 3-0 margin as Team USA would drop its lone dual of the tournament in close fashion.
With day one in the books, Team USA wasted little time getting back on track closing out pool play on Sunday with a 8-2 win over Mongolia as Chamberlain made quick work of Byambadorj Enkhbayar for a 10-0 technical fall win.
Clinching a spot in the third place match, Team USA took on Japan where Chamberlain fell 5-3 to Kojiro Shiga to close out his tournament.
First Round Match vs. Georgia (USA won 7-3)

Second Round Match vs. Iran (Tied 5-5; Iran won on classification points, 21-18)
