Mattson to compete in pentathlon at NCAA indoor championships on Friday

FRESNO, Calif. – On Friday, Jestena Mattson will take center stage at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama as the Fresno State senior will participate in the pentathlon at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The pentathlon will begin with the 60-meter hurdles at 12:15 p.m. CT/10:15 a.m. PT. The final event of the competition, the 800 meters is slated to start at 5:30 p.m. CT/3:30 p.m. PT. Live results can be viewed here. The championships will air on ESPN3.

The Bulldog earned her spot at the championships with a personal best and school record 4,082 points on Feb. 21 at the Mountain West Indoor Championships. Mattson will be the first Bulldog athlete to participate at the indoor championships since Je'Nia Sears competed in the long jump in 2013.
