'Dogs win 4-3 thriller over Aztecs on the road

SAN DIEGO – The Fresno State men's tennis team won a crucial Mountain West match on Friday afternoon, defeating San Diego State 4-3 in the Aztec Tennis Center.
Fresno State improves 12-9 (2-1 MW) this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles – The Bulldogs sported a new doubles lineup. Zdenek Derkas and Patrik Pech played at the No. 1 position, Mantas Bugailiskis and Cem Erturk played at the No. 2 position along with Angus Bradshaw and Cagatay Soke at the No. 3 position.
Bradshaw and Soke defeated their opponents at the No. 3 position 6-3. Bugailiskis and Soke clinched the doubles point at the No. 2 position, defeating the Aztecs 6-2. The match at the No. 1 position was left unfinished.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead into singles play.
Singles – San Diego State tied the match 1-1 when Erturk fell to his opponent 6-4, 6-1. Derkas routed his opponent at the No. 1 position 7-5, 6-0. Derkas remains undefeated in conference play with a 3-0 record at the No. 1 position.
With a win at the No. 3 position, the Aztecs tied the match 2-2. Bradshaw retook the lead for the Bulldogs with a three-set win at the No. 2 position (6-0, 5-7, 7-5). The match was knotted 3-3 when San Diego State managed a three-set victory at the No. 4 position.
Soke clinched the match for Fresno State at the No. 6 position after he fought to grind out a win against his opponent in three set tiebreaker 7-5, 5-7, 7-6(3).
