LAS VEGAS – The Fresno State men's tennis team won its second consecutive Mountain West match with a 4-3 win over UNLV, Sunday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
"We had two very big come-from-behind wins against tough conference rivals on the road," head coach Luke Shields said. "Cagatay Soke created a magical moment against San Diego State saving three match points and coming back from a 5-2 deficit in the third set. He really led the team and played courageous all weekend. Zdenek Derkas was dominant in both matches. Mantas Bugailiskis stepped up in the clutch against UNLV and came out with the clinch to win the match. I was really happy with how our team came together and competed this weekend. We've been on the road eight straight weeks and it's made us tougher."
Fresno State improves 13-9 (3-1 MW) this season.
