COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced today the 2019 Outdoor Track and Field all-conference individual and relay teams. The league honors the top-three finishers in each event from the conference championships, which were held May 8-11 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California. In total, the MW recognized the accomplishments of 100 individuals and each of the four members of the relay teams which included Fresno State's Varvara Klyuchnikova, Jestena Mattson, Patricija Roshofa and the Bulldogs 4x400 relay team (Divina Henry, Maja Pogorevc, Mattson and Roshofa).
Mattson earned her second consecutive gold medal in the heptathlon at the championships and third first-place finish in a row in the multis at the conference meet last week. Breaking her own school record in the heptathlon for the second straight year with 5,635 points, Mattson's point total ranks fifth-best in MW Championship history. This is her fifth All-MW honor in the last six conference meets.
Klyuchnikova grabbed silver in the high jump earning her top finish at the conference meet since joining Fresno State in 2018. The senior's top clearance of the day came at 1.71m/5-7.25. Despite a tie for the second spot, she finished ahead on misses after clearing each of the previous three heights on her first attempt. This is her second-straight All-MW honor after placing third at indoors.  Â
Roshofa earned her first-career All-MW honor with a third-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 54.84. The freshman qualified for the finals with the second-fastest time in the prelims, a personal-best 54-19.
The Bulldogs' 4x400 relay team also earned a spot after claiming silver by clocking a season-best time of 3:37.73.
