- An 18-game series that started by Fresno State winning the first 17, the Bulldogs and New Mexico State meet again on Saturday for the first time since Nov. 12, 2011. The two met seven straight years prior as WAC foes (2005-11).
- The Bulldogs have scored 30 or more points in 14 of the 18 games against the Aggies.
- The Aggies will make the trip to Fresno State on Oct. 17, 2020 to complete the home-and-home series.
- Saturday will be NM State's third-straight matchup against a Mountain West program. The Aggies fell to San Diego State, 31-10, and most recently lost to New Mexico, 55-52.
- Following the first three games and four weeks of the college football season, the Bulldogs will travel by air and leave the state of California for the first time this season.

- Blake Cusick was named to Ray's 8 for week four games. All three of the seniors punts fell inside the 10-yard line last time out; four of Cusick's last six punts have been inside the 10-yard line proving to be the same weapon this year as he was last year as one of 10 Ray Guy Award semifinalists.
- Four players earned their first career starts versus Sacramento State (OL Nick Aibuedefe, TE Cam Sutton, DE Alex Cruz & DB Deshawn Ruffin).
