2020 (R-FRESHMAN): Played in the Bulldogs’ game at Utah State (Nov. 14) … did not record a stat.
2019 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in three games as a freshman … totaled eight tackles with seven solo stops … utilized a redshirt season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ruffin was named to Pag Meter All-Valley Sleeper list leading up to the 2017 season ... he was selected to the preseason All-Central Section second team by CalHiSports.com entering his junior season in 2016 ... Ruffin tallied 16 tackles and two interceptions as a junior and had two picks and 26 tackles as a sophomore, totaling 32 solo tackles over those two seasons ... he served as his Sunnyside’s kick returner as well and had two kickoff return touchdowns, including a 93-yard kick return touchdown in 2015. Ruffin also played on the offensive side of the ball at wide receiver ... Ruffin also had interest from Florida State, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, and Boston College ... he helped his team go undefeated in North Yosemite League play in both 2016 and 2017 ... he was a teammate of fellow Fresno State 2018 recruit Sherwin King at Sunnyside HS ... Ruffin also ran track at Sunnyside High School … volunteered at the annual Donut Run at Woodward Park.
PERSONAL: Born in Norfolk, VA. … son of Dwayne Ruffin and Joyce Gatson … is the oldest of six children - Devon, Myles, Noah, Kayla and Nakya … he enjoys playing piano and is a big Marvel fan … favorite athlete is Tyrann Mathieu because regardless of the situation, he is successful … majoring in communication … chose to attend Fresno State because his father attended Fresno State and it was always a dream of his to play here.
