2020 (SOPHOMORE): Did not see game action ... named to the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team.
PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE: Spent the 2019 season at Bakersfield College.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Bakersfield Christian HS ... was a four-year varsity letter winner at quarterback ... helped the team to a Valley championship and state runner-up in 2017 ... was named first team All-Conference and All-Area as a junior ... also picked up first team All-State honors ... was a pre-season small schools All-American ... tallied 33 passing touchdowns and just four receptions as a senior ... had 2,700 passing yards that season ... had a 67 percent mark throwing for 4,379 yards and 44 touchdowns in his junior season ... also volunteered by feeding the homeless and surprising families with gifts on Christmas.
PERSONAL: Son of Blaine and Melissa Wingle ... has a younger sister, Grace ... hobbies include fishing and hanging out with friends ... his favorite athlete is Tim Tebow because of his passion for football and his walk with the Lord ... his biggest athletic thrill is playing in the State championship game as a junior ... his uncle Blake Wingle played football at UCLA and went on to play four years in the NFL ... father played football at Long Beach State ... was also recruited by the Northern Illinois and Nevada ... chose to attend Fresno State because he liked the program and thought it would be a great fit ... is majoring in communication at Fresno State.
