One step closer                                                                                                                                               Â
With a win last Saturday, Fresno State moved closer to earning its first Mountain West regular season title. A win on Wednesday over second-place San Jose State would clinch a share of the title. Fresno State would then earn the outright championship by winning one of its final four games or have San Jose State and UNLV lose one of their remaining five games.
- If the Bulldogs fall on Wednesday, they would need to win two of their remaining four games to clinch a share, and three games for an outright. Scenarios would be dependent on San Jose State's results in its remaining games.
Â
A race to be the first                                                                                                                                     Â
With the Bulldogs being able to clinch a share of the Mountain West championship on Wednesday, Fresno State would be first team in Division I to claim its conference's regular season title during the 2019-20 season.
Â
Historic start                                                                                                                                                    Â
With Fresno State's win over UNLV on Saturday, the Bulldogs improved their longest win streak to open a Mountain West season (13-0). It surpassed the 9-0 start that occurred during Jaime White's first season in Fresno (2014-15).
-This year's win streak to open conference play is the second-longest in Fresno State history behind the 16 in 2009-10.

Fresno State is one of 12 teams in the country to be undefeated in conference play, but the Bulldogs are the only team to hold a 13-0 record. Robert Morris is the next closest at 12-0 while Stony Brook, Florida Gulf Coast, Rice, Jackson State and South Dakota are 11-0.
Â
The streak                                                                                                                                                          Â
Fresno State is currently leading the Mountain West with a 12-game win streak. It is tied for the third-longest streak in program history, and is one shy of the 13 which Jaime White's team accomplished in her first season (2014-15).
- Fresno State's longest streaks in its history are 19 (2009-10) and 13 (2014-15).
Â
A special trio                                                                                                                                                    Â
No team in the country can claim to have three players rank in the top four in scoring in its conference, except Fresno State. The Bulldogs' trio of Haley Cavinder (2nd - 16.3), Hanna Cavinder (4th - 15.5) and Maddi Utti (3rd- 16.3) rank two through four in the Mountain West in scoring.
- Fresno State is one of two teams in the country, along with Oregon, to have three players average at least 15 points per game.
- In 13 of Fresno State's 24games, the trio of Maddi Utti, Hanna Cavinder and Haley Cavinder have been the Bulldogs' top three scorers.
- Fresno State is 11-2 when the trio are the team's top three scorers.
- The three have combined for more 20-point games than any other team in the league (24).
Â
They're explosive                                                                                                                                                            Â
When any of the Bulldogs' top three scorers makes a couple shots in a row, look out. Through the first 22 games of the season, one of the members of the trio had scored at least 10 points in a quarter 15 times. Until Game No. 23 at Colorado State, no other player on the team has scored 10 points in a quarter, but Aly Gamez changed that with 11 in 29-point second quarter outburst for the Bulldogs
- Haley Cavinder has scored at least 10 points in a period a team-best seven times.
- Haley has posted a team-high 14 points in a quarter at New Mexico which included a 10-0 run by herself in 63 seconds.
They just keep coming                                                                                                                                 Â
For the nation's 20th-ranked scoring offense, balance amongst its top scorers has been its biggest asset. With the trio of Maddi Utti, Haley Cavinder and Hanna Cavinder living as the Bulldogs' top three scorers throughout much of the season, junior captain Aly Gamez has found her scoring groove in recent weeks. With four straight double-digit scoring games, it's been a pick your poison of sorts for opposing teams. Slow one scorer down, another one steps up.
- On the year, the four are averaging between 10.3-16.3 points per game (58.4). In conference, their averages have moved closer as they range from 12.2-16.0 (58.9).
- In the last four games, Gamez has been one of the team's top three scorers, twice being the team's top scorer.
Â
Doing it all                                                                                                                                                         Â
A player who has done just about everything asked of her, Maddi Utti has put her full arsenal on display since the start of the New Year. In nine games, the 5-foot-11 forward has averaged 15.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game. During the 11-game span, she leads the Bulldogs in rebounds and steals, and is second in points and fourth in assists.
- Utti has lived up to her preseason all-conference billing through 24 games, ranking in the top six in the MW in scoring (3rd), rebounding (3rd), field-goal percentage (3rd), steals (1st), offensive rebounds (4th) and defensive rebounds (4th).
- Utti leads the league and ranks 15th in the NCAA in field goals made (166) and is 24th in steals (60).
- On Jan. 18, just over halfway through her junior season, Maddi Utti became the 25th player in Fresno State history to join the 1,000-point club. With 19 more points this year, she will enter the the top 20.

A freshman among rare company                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Â
Haley Cavinder has put herself among some of the best in the nation. Averaging 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists, the freshman is one of seven players in the NCAA averaging at least 15, 7 and 3. Cavinder is joined on the list by Valerie Higgins (Pacific), Sabrina Ionescu (Oregon), Erica Johnson (Ohio), Stella Johnson (Rider), Rachel Thompson (Colgate) and Megan Walker (UConn).
- At 5-foot-6, Cavinder is the only player on the list who is under 5-foot-10.
- She is the only freshman among the group and is one of two underclassmen.
