Bulldogs split Saturday meets

AUBURN, Ala. - The No. 7 Fresno State equestrian team split its Saturday meets with Lynchburg and No. 1 Auburn at the Auburn University Equestrian Center.

vs. Lynchburg (jumping seat only)
The Bulldogs opened the morning with a 4-4 tie against Lynchburg, but won the event by raw score 699-672. Fresno State swept the Most Outstanding Performer honors in the jumping seat only event. Freshman Olivia Ferro picked up the MOP with a 90-72 win in the fences. Sara Tuck was the flat MOP, scoring her point on a 93.5-84 win.
vs. No. 1 Auburn
Fresno State had a short break before taking on the No. 1-ranked Auburn. The Bulldogs were swept in the Fences, but scored their first point of the meet in the Horsemanship. Emily Maul picked up the first point with a 72.5-71.5 edging. Senior Kameron Thorn remains undefeated on the season, earning her point with a 75-71.5 ride.

At the half, Fresno State trailed 8-2.

Fresno State and Auburn split the Flat event, going 2-2 with one tie. Ana Bertozzi and Sara Tuck earned the Bulldog points and Cecily Hayes tied in her ride. Bertozzi scored a 93.5 to her opponent's 92. Tuck scored a 92.5 to her opponent's 82. Hayes scored a career-best 95.5 in her tie.

The Bulldogs' reining team scored one on a 74-72.5 ride by Bailey Alexander. Senior Lexee Padrick remains without a loss this season,
