DAVIS, Calif. – The No. 11 Fresno State water polo team earned its first road win of the season after defeating No. 16 UC Davis in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
"Today was a great experience for our team, having to battle back and take a very strong Davis team into overtime," said head coach Natalie Benson. "Proud of the never-quit attitude that our 'Dogs showed today, and the tough defensive finish to seal the game. We were able to tap into some of our depth, and look forward to tomorrow's challenge."
Six different Bulldogs found the back of the net in the contest. Emily Nicholson and Daphne Guevremont led the offense, both logging hat tricks in the victory. Kate Watley and Hope Stokes split time in the goal, combining for 11 saves.
Additional goal scorers for the Bulldogs include Callie Woodruff, Sienna Jagielski, Claire Schade and Yesenia Preciado.
