'Dogs set for busy weekend in Southern California

FRESNO, Calif. -- The Fresno State's men's tennis team is heading to Los Angeles for a three-match road stretch this weekend. The Bulldogs are beginning the stretch at Loyola Marymount on Friday at noon before heading to Azusa Pacific on Saturday for a noon match. The team will wrap up its weekend on the road at UC Irvine on Sunday noon.

Fresno State is currently 2-0 overall this season with convincing wins over UC Davis and Cal Poly during their opening weekend. For his 4-0 record and impact in those matches, senior Angus Bradshaw was named Mountain West Player of the Week, the first weekly honor of his career.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Loyola Marymount is currently 1-1 overall this season with their win coming against Cal Poly, while their loss comes from UC Irvine.

Last time out - The Lions last played Feb. 7, Cal Poly defeating Cal Poly 4-1.

Series history - In the past five matchups with Loyola Marymount the Bulldogs hold a 3-2 record against the Lions.

Azusa Pacific is beginning its season against the 'Dogs, and is coming off of a 6-3 2020 season that was shortened due to COVID-19.

Series history - The Bulldogs are taking on the Cougars for the first time in over a decade.

SCOUTING THE ANTEATERS
UC Irvine has a 1-2 record to begin their season, with its win coming against Loyola Marymount and losses coming from No. 1 USC, and San Diego.

Last time out - The Anteaters last match was against San Diego where they fell 5-2 against the Toreros.

Series history - UC Irvine has battled the Bulldogs five times in the last decade with Fresno State holding a 3-2 edge.
