QUICK LOOK - Fresno State is 1-2 on the season after three-straight road games to kick off 2021. The Bulldogs' lone win is a 20-11 victory at Kent State (Feb. 19).

LAST TIME OUT - The Bulldogs fell 18-13 at Robert Morris on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Fresno State had a strong second-half comeback but it was not enough to erase the 9-3 halftime lead that the Colonials had given themselves early on. Despite the loss, Fresno State recorded a team season-high in assists (10), ground balls (35), and caused turnovers (10).

THE TEAMS IN THE NCAA - Fresno State ranks No. 4 in draw controls per game (19) and shots per game (39) in the NCAA. The Bulldogs are also in the top 10 in the country in shots on goal per game (7th/27.67) and ground balls per game (9th/23).

With only one game played this season, ASU is the national leader in assists per game (12), draw controls per game (26), points per game (35), scoring offense (23), shots per game (44) and shots on goal per game (35).

WINNING THE DRAW - Fresno State in No. 4 in the NCAA in draw controls per game, averaging 19 draws per contest. The Bulldogs have earned 57 draw controls in three games this season to lead the country in total draw controls. Junior attacker Sydney Skalstad set a program record with 12 draw controls at Kent State. She had seven draws at RMU and is now one of four players in program history to have over 100 career draw controls.

OKAY FRESHIES - The Bulldog freshmen have made their presence known early on this season. Freshman attacker Logann Eldredge was named the MPSF Rookie of the Week on Feb. 22. This season, Eldredge has totaled eight goals, four assists, four ground balls and one draw control. Eldredge has scored her eight goals on 12 shots and leads the team with a .667 shooting percentage.

Defensive first-year Devon Ortman leads the team in ground balls (10) and is second on the team in draw controls (11) so far this season. The freshman also has three caused turnovers. She has two goals on the year, both on two free-position attempts.

SHARING THE LOVE - The Bulldogs are ranked 12th in the NCAA in assists per game (7.67). Fresno State has totaled 23 assists in its three games this season, and is second in the country in total assists, behind only North Carolina (26).

Eight different Bulldogs have dished an assist this season. Senior Lauren Kiszely leads the team with eight assists. Kiszely is no stranger to the assist category as she set a new single-game program record with six in a game last season. Kiszely is seven assists shy from moving into second in program history in career assists. She currently has 42 in her career.

Logann Eldredge and Megan Walaitis are second on the team with four assists each this season. Hennessey Evans and Hannah Krats have two, while Sydney Skalstad, Devon Ortman and Kristen Zenor have one each.

HENNESSEY THE MIDDY - Sophomore Hennessey Evans has been locked down in the midfield, playing key roles in each game this season. Evans has scored eight goals and added two assists this season. She is second on the team with 18 total shots and 15 shots on goal. Evans is also second on the team with nine ground balls, and leads the team with six caused turnovers. Evans is No. 32 in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game (2).

GROUND BALL MAGNETS - Fresno State has 69 ground balls on the season. The 'Dogs are 10th in the NCAA in ground balls per game, but rank fourth in the country in total ground balls. Fresno State scooped 35 ground balls last time out at Robert Morris. Not only were those 35 ground balls the second-most in a game in program history, but they were the second-most in a game by any team in the NCAA so far this season.

COURTNEY IN THE CAGE - Senior goalkeeper Courtney Walburger has been one-upping her career-highs in the cage game-by-game. Walburger has 31 saves this season, and has recorded a new career-best mark in every game this season. Last time out, the senior picked up a career-best 12 saves. She also has four ground balls and a caused turnover on the year.

SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE - ASU is 1-0 on the season after opening the year with a home game against San Diego State on Feb. 21. The Sun Devils defeated SDSU 23-10 in the season opener. ASU was led by eight goals and one assist for nine points from graduate student Carley Adams. Senior goalkeeper Berkeley Bonneau picked up 15 saves while allowing nine goals in the win against the Aztecs. The pair of Sun Devils were named the Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week last week.
