A pair of Bulldogs, DJ Lloren & Hunter Cruz, earned pre-seeds for the 2021 Big 12 Wrestling Championship.
IRVING, Texas -Â The pre-seeding for the 2021 Big 12 Wrestling Championship was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
With the Championship set to be held at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla., on Saturday and Sunday, the Bulldogs will have a pair of 'Dogs seeded in their respective weight classes.
Redshirt senior DJ Lloren earned the No. 4 seed at 141 pounds as the Clovis native enters Big 12's with a perfect 9-0 record and a No. 12 ranking in the latest NCAA coaches rankings.
Redshirt sophomore Hunter Cruz picked up the No. 8 seed at 184 pounds and was No. 28 in the latest NCAA coaches rankings.
With the Big 12 allocated 45 automatic qualifiers to the 2021 NCAA Championships, each weight will qualify a different number of wrestlers as 157 pounds will have three automatic qualifiers while 141, 174 & 184 will have four apiece. 125, 133, 149, 165, 197 pounds and heavyweight will get six automatic qualifiers apiece.
