'Dogs drop double overtime match to Rebels, 2-1

LAS VEGAS – The Fresno State women's soccer team fell to UNLV in a double-overtime match 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Kassandra Ceja scored the Bulldogs' lone goal in the contest, her third goal of the season. Fresno State falls to 3-3-1 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rebels were firing on offense from the start, outshooting the Bulldogs 18-5 in the contest. Valentina Vivas played all 107 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs and chalked a season-high nine saves.
The Bulldogs scored the game's opening goal in the 21st minute. Kayla King sent the ball into a congested goal box, and Kassandra Ceja was able to get a foot on it sending it right past the Rebels' goalkeeper.

Fresno State kept the advantage through the first half.
The Rebels wouldn't go down without a fight, as they continued to fire at the goal. UNLV finally found the back of the net in the 53rd minute. Ariana Reyes sent a high shot from 20-yards out and it slipped in right past the right post, Vivas dove for the save but just missed the ball.
The match was knotted 1-1 at the end of regulation, sending the Bulldogs into overtime for the second time this season.
The Rebels stayed on the attack, sending off four shots in the first overtime period but Vivas came in clutch with the saves.

UNLV's offensive pressure eventually paid off as Reyes connected with a throw-in from eight yards out for the golden goal.
