DEFENSIVE LINE
The Fresno State defensive line brings back almost everyone, only losing one starter in Alex Dumais. The line that produced at least 6.0 TFL in each game last fall, brings back three All-Mountain West selections in Kevin Atkins, Kwami Jones and David Perales.
Perales, an All-MW Second Team selection, led the MW in forced fumbles and was ranked No. 3 in the NCAA in with four. Jones was an All-MW honorable mention pick, finishing the season ranked No. 8 in the NCAA in sacks per game. Atkins, also an All-MW honorable mention choice, was tied for fifth in the Mountain West in sacks with five.
The Bulldogs also bring back a wealth of defensive end experience in Devo Bridges, Isaiah Johnson and Da'Marcus Johnson. Junior Matt Lawson brings experience on the interior line. Senior Arron Mosby has made the full transition from linebacker to defensive end for the upcoming season, adding more experience and depth to the line.Â
Fresno State boosts its defensive line depth with four true freshmen and two transfers for the 2021 season. Leonard Payne Jr. also looks to make his way into the starting lineup after being inactive in the 2020 season.Â
