BULLDOG BONES
- Fresno State senior defensive end David Perales has been named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week following his career-best performance against San Jose State last weekend.
- The four-game streak came to an end last weekend as Fresno State defeated San Jose State 17-10 in its first game at Valley Children's Stadium in five weeks. Fresno State's victory last Saturday was significant for several reasons other than just ending the losing streak. The Bulldogs got to keep possession of the Valley Trophy, but also picked up a key West Division victory over a previously undefeated SJSU. With the win, Fresno State remains in full control of its destiny with the chance to make it to the MW Championship game still ahead of it.
- With three games as the starting quarterback under his belt, it is becoming clear that sophomore Logan Fife has begun to feel more comfortable under center, and the rest of the offense more comfortable with him as well. Fife has thrown for 661 yards while completing 63-of-91 pass attempts. Fife is throwing at a 69.23 percent clip, a mark that is 20th in the FBS through games played Oct. 15.Â
- Moreno-Cropper is one of 21 players from around the FBS to have active streaks of more than 25 games with a reception. Moreno-Cropper has caught a pass in 29-straight games, a streak that is now third all-time in Fresno State history, having passed Jamire Jordan (2015-17), Davante Adams (2012-13) and Jalen Saunders (2010-11) who sat at 26 games with a reception.
- In his career (2017-pres), senior RB Jordan Mims has scored 33 touchdowns (25 rushing, 8 receiving). His 33 total touchdowns are the seventh-most by a Bulldog in their career. Mims is just one rushing touchdown away from breaking into the Top 10 in career rushing touchdowns - his 26th score would tie with Aaron Carver (1989-90) and Kelly Skipper (1985-88) in Fresno State's history. 2021 senior Ronnie Rivers holds the program record with 40 career rushing touchdowns.
- Junior cornerback Bralyn Lux has been one of many playmakers for the Bulldog defense this season. Now in his third season on the field, Lux has continued to grow his game. The junior from Sunnyvale, Calif. has done just about everything for the defense as he has 30 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, one interception, six broken up passes, and one forced fumble.Â
- Senior David Perales leads the group with 6.5 sacks through six games this season. His 1.08 sacks per game average leads all FBS players. Although having played in all six games, his 6.5 sacks this season have been recorded in just three games with a career-best 4.0 sacks last time out. Perales has 17.5 career sacks, just 1.0 sack away from cracking the Top 10 in Fresno State history.
- Fresno State had its longest dry spell since 2009, going the first three games of the season without a turnover on defense. Fresno State got its first turnovers of the season at UConn with two fumble recoveries at UConn (Oct. 1). Since then, the Bulldogs have had at least one takeaway in each game to date.Â
- For the first time in program history, Fresno State has all 12 of its regular season games set to be broadcast on national television. The Bulldogs will play eight games on a Fox Sports Network platform, with the remaining four on CBS Sports Network.Â
