Bulldog Headlines

The 'Dogs host their first Mountain West home series this weekend taking on Nevada this weekend.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 8-2 midweek setback against Harvard.
The Diamond 'Dogs are celebrating their 100th season on the diamond this season.
The 'Dogs are 5-3 in Mountain West home openers with wins in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 & 2021.
Zach Morgan, who was named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List on March 10, leads the conference in batting average (.417) and Ben Newton is right behind in second hitting .413 from the plate.
Newton tied a single-game program record on Saturday going 6-for-6 with five singles, a double, three RBI and one run scored in a 12-3 win over the Lobos.
Ixan Henderson leads the MW in ERA (1.25), opposing batting average (.203) and strikeouts (34).
The 'Dogs lead the MW in ERA (4.47) & are second in strikeouts (158).

Fresno State and Nevada have met 183 times on the baseball diamond with the 'Dogs leading 110-73.

A look at the Nevada Wolf Pack
The Wolf Pack enter this weekend with a 8-6 overall mark and a 4-1 record in the Mountain West. Nevada is coming off a midweek split at home against Dixie State and swept San Jose State at home last weekend.

Nevada is hitting .301 as a team to rank second in the conference while leading the league in slugging percentage (.484) and on-base percentage (.418). The Wolf Pack are averaging 8.3 runs per game and have scored 10 or more runs in five games this season.

Redshirt senior Joshua Zamora leads the Wolf Pack hitting .407 leading the team in hits (22), doubles (5) and runs (16) and three other regular starters are hitting over .300 on the season.

Nevada has a 6.84 ERA as a team and has struck out 94, but has issued 82 walks and hit 17 opponents this season.

Sophomore right-hander Peyton Stumbo has four of the Wolf Pack's eight wins and Cam Walty leads the team with 21 innings pitched and 21 strikeouts.

Morgan sits atop the conference in batting average (.417), doubles (10) & hits (30) and is currently on an 11-game hitting streak.

Andrew Kachel has drawn a MW-leading 13 walks and Ixan Henderson leads in strikeouts (34), ERA (1.25) and opposing batting average (.203).
