FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State football team had one player selected in the 2022 NFL Draft on Saturday. Cornerback DaRon Bland got the call in the fifth round as the 167th overall pick to the Dallas Cowboys.
Bland becomes the 109th NFL Draft pick in Fresno State history. When looking at the Bulldogs' draft history, Bland is the first cornerback to earn a draft selection since 2007. He is just the 11th Bulldog cornerback to be drafted in program history.
The Cowboys got their first Bulldog pick since 1997, and just their fourth all-time in Bland.
This is the first year since 2020 that Fresno State has had a player selected in the NFL Draft.
