QUICK LOOK
- Fresno State and Miami (OH) are set to meet for the first time in program historyÂ
- Fresno State is participating in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl for the first time in program historyÂ
- Fresno State is playing in its fifth-straight bowl game (bowl history can be found on page 78)
- Fresno State is one of seven Mountain West teams that are bowl eligible this season
- Fresno State is coached by first-year head coach Matt Entz, who became the fifth Bulldog head coach to lead its team to a bowl game in the first season. With a win, he would join Jeff Tedford (2017) as the only two first-year head coaches to win the bowl game in their first season as head coach.
- Fresno State has six players on its roster from the state of Arizona, including starting linebacker Jadon Pearson (Gilbert) and starting quarterback E.J. Warner (Phoenix).
- Fresno State's leading rusher Rayshon "Speedy" Luke returns to Tucson for the first time since his transfer from Arizona to Fresno State. Luke leads the Bulldogs' rushing attack with 688 yards on 108 carries. He adds a team-high six touchdowns and is averaging 6.4 yards per carry with a 57.3 average per game.Â
- Another added twist to the story of Luke's return is the Snoop Dogg element of the bowl game. Luke began his football journey in the Snoop Dogg Youth Football League, a non-profit organization he founded in 2005 to provide inner-city kids a chance to play football, teaching discipline and teamwork while bringing communities together.
- Fresno State has over 2,000 yards rushing this season, its most in a season since 2018
- Fresno State's defense has held its opponents to 293.5 yards per game, its fewest allowed in a season since 1976 (269.64).
- Fresno State is one of just 15 schools in the FBS holding its opponents to below 300 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs are second in the Mountain West behind San Diego State (266.7).Â
- The Mountain West announced its 2025 all-conference football teams, placing Jacob Spomer (C) on the first team and Jadon Pearson (LB) and Al'zillion Hamilton (CB) on the second team. Finn Claypool, Deijon Laffitte, Josiah Freeman, Simeon Harris and Rayshon Luke earned honorable mention.
- Kicker Dylan Lynch broke into the program's Top 5 in scoring with 308 career points
- Senior running back Elijah Gilliam scored two touchdowns in Fresno State's win at San Jose State, bringing his career total to 20 rushing TDs as a player who began as a walk-on
- Nickelback Simeon Harris is tied for fourth in the FBS and leads the Mountain West with five interceptions this season. Fresno State has now had a player with at least five interceptions in three of the last four seasons.Â
- Defensive end Finn Claypool leads the team with 10.0 TFL and 6.5 sacks, the most by a Bulldog since 2022.
- Defensive end Jahzon Jacks leads the FBS with four fumble recoveries this season, one away from the Mountain West single season record.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
- Fresno State and Miami (OH) will meet for the first time in program history.Â
- This is the RedHawks' fifth straight season that has ended with a bowl game after playing six total bowls from 1976-2020. Miami has not won consecutive bowls (in consecutive seasons or otherwise) since a run of three straight Tangerine Bowl wins from 1973-75.
- Miami is a perfect 8-0 when Jordan Brunson has rushed for at least 60 yards in his career, including a 5-0 mark this season. Brunson was held to just 34 yards in last season's Arizona Bowl win, but he did have two rushing touchdowns, both in the fourth quarter
