'Dogs fall to Rebels on Senior Day

Fresno State (25-27, 13-14 MW) collected 14 hits on the afternoon with 10 different Bulldogs notching a base knock.
Payton Allen, Ivan Luna, Vinny Bologna and Travis Welker all notched two hits apiece while Zach Morgan scored a pair of runs.
Nikoh Mitchell made his fourth start of the year throwing a season-high five innings and struck out a season-best seven.
Six Bulldog relievers combined for the final four innings with Tommy Hopfe, Trevor Garcia and Alex Kendrick each throwing one inning apiece.
How It Happened
UNLV powered their way to a 12-0 lead through the first five-and-half innings behind five home runs with a solo home run in the first, back-to-back solo shots in the third, a two-run shot in the fifth and tacked on seven more runs in the sixth that included a three-run shot from Eric Bigani.
With the 'Dogs held scoreless and to five hits by UNLV starter Noah Beal through five innings, the 'Dogs started to find their offense with a four-run sixth getting started with a two-run RBI single by Bologna followed by an RBI groundout from Mason Grotto and an RBI single by Welker.
The 'Dogs cut the Rebels lead to 12-5 in the seventh with Grotto's second RBI of the contest with a single up the middle and the 'Dogs threatened for more loading the bases with one out, but were unable to get anymore runs across.Â
One final run came across for UNLV in the eighth and the 'Dogs rounded out the scoring in the ninth on a two-out, two-run RBI single by Nate Thimjon.
