Partnership will upgrade Fresno State’s football, soccer, baseball and softball facilities this year, starting with this fall season at football and soccer.
FORT WORTH, Texas – Fresno State Athletics and Digital Seat Media have joined forces to amplify the home game experience for the more than 250,000 fans and students, who annually attend the Bulldogs' football, women's soccer, baseball and softball games.
Digital Seat Media, a real-time fan engagement technology platform, is in the process of installing 49,146 metal tags inscribed with unique QR codes at four of the university's intercollegiate athletic venues including Valley Children's Stadium, Margie Wright Diamond, Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium, and the Fresno State Soccer Stadium.
With the simple scan of a Digital Seat QR Code, fans and students will be able to access the software fan engagement platform without the need to download an app, regardless of their mobile phone brand.
Attendees will be able to scan a QR code from their seat to access various modules on the fan engagement platform such as team rosters, live scores & stats, gameday programs, fan polling, sponsorship integration, in-seat food & merchandise, augmented reality (AR) filters, as well as interactive modules such as mobile games and sponsor offers.
"The Red Wave is a historic fan base that has been a driving force in Fresno State becoming a nationally recognized pioneer in college athletics," said Zachary Fraser, general manager of Bulldog Sports Properties, the official multimedia rights holder of Fresno State Athletics. "Whether you're a fan cheering or a student-athlete representing the Bulldogs, our teams bring a sense of pride and tradition to the Valley. Digital Seat's platform will revolutionize how we host our fans and will offer an opportunity for our students and fans to engage with our teams more than ever."
"The Digital Seat platform comes with endless possibilities and with each new partnership we uncover more of those possibilities," says Cameron Fowler, CEO of Digital Seat Media. "The college fan experience is an integral part of American culture and we're grateful to play a small role in heightening the experience for fans. This fall, Fresno State fans will feel the convenience of having the Digital Seat platform at their fingertips and we're excited to get closer to the game."
The Digital Seat portal can provide access to additional features including downloadable coupons & offers, team rosters, Instagram filters, player stats, and more. Digital Seat Media has installed over 1,000,000 digital seat tags at over 40 venues to date including tags at Baylor University, University of Washington, Virginia Tech, Rose Bowl Stadium, Paycom Center (home of the Oklahoma City Thunder), Vivint Arena (home of the Utah Jazz) and many more.
