FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State rolls into Week 2 facing its second Pac-12 opponent. This time, the Bulldogs are hosting the Pac-12 foe. Thursday night, Oregon State will be just the second ever Pac-12 team to play a match at the Fresno State Soccer Stadium, a venue that the Bulldogs are 15-3-3 in since the start of 2019 when Oregon ventured to Fresno.
THE BREAKDOWN
- The 'Dogs are in familiar territory after dropping their opening matches of the season in the Pacific Northwest. The Bulldogs had the same result a year ago after a trip to Oregon but returned to California and picked up a win the following week. The return home is a welcome one as during the last three seasons, the Bulldogs own a .786 winning percentage on their home pitch, winning 15 out of 21 matches (15-3-3).
- Last season, Fresno State outscored its opponents 19-4 in eight home matches.
- The 'Dogs have not lost their home opener in the last four seasons (1-0-3), with their lone win coming against San Jose State during the spring 2021 season.
- The Bulldogs return 18 players from their 2021 team which includes 10 of their 11 starters.
- While the majority of the production returned, three of the squad's seven freshmen earned starts during the opening week. Lucía Mazón started both matches in the center of the back line.
- 96.6 percent of the Bulldogs' scoring returned from a season ago (28 of 29 goals).
- Head Coach Brian Zwaschka is seeking his 100th career victory as he currently sits on 99.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THURSDAY
- Thursday will mark the return of Bulldog Boulevard with Fresno Street Eats. Food trucks that will be on site are Cen Cal Pizza Trolley, Taqueria Jaliscience, YoCo Lemonade and Bulldog Burger Bistro.
- Fans will enjoy a new addition to the stadium this year as seat backs have been installed on the bleachers.

LOCALLY GROWN

- The 'Dogs were 5-0-0 last spring and went 5-1-0 this fall.
