'Dogs host No. 3 Texas A&M

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State equestrian team will open regular season competition with a home meet against No. 3 Texas A&M at the Student Horse Center on Friday. Riding is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. PT.

Parking and admission are free of charge. Parking passes are available at the announcer's booth inside the Student Horse Center.

QUICK LOOK AT THE 'DOGS

Fresno State was ranked No. 8 in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association preseason rankings, and remained at No. 8 for the Sept. 27 rankings.
Fresno State added 10 new faces to its roster for the 2022-23 season.
The Bulldogs have seven seniors on the roster for the 2022-23 season.
Fresno State does not return an all-conference or all-american rider from the 2021-22 season.
Three Bulldogs were named team captains for the 2022-23 season - Emily Maul, Madelyn Bloom and Lizzie Stodden. All three are team captains for the first time in their careers.
Eric Hubbard enters his eighth season as the head coach of the program, but 11th at the helm after serving three seasons as the interim head coach.Western assistant coach Mary Brown enters her sixth year as an assistant coach with the program.
The jumping seat squad is led by first-year assistant coach and Bulldog equestrian alum Sierra Swaffar.
Fresno State has two home meets in the fall season and four home meets in the spring.

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M

The Aggies were announced as the No. 2 team in the NCEA preseason rankings, but fell a spot to No. 3 after a 10-10 tiebreaker loss to then-No. 3 TCU (Sept. 23). Texas A&M fell by raw score 1622.75-1630.5.
Texas A&M finished the 2021-22 season with a 14-5 (5-1 SEC) record.
The Aggies were runner-ups in the SEC championship, falling to Auburn in the finals.
The Aggies were also runner-ups at the 2022 NCEA National Championship, falling to Oklahoma State in the finals.
