Firpo, Sutherland lead 'Dogs in Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. — The Fresno State golf team sits in fifth place at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational after carding an 8-under 280 in the opening round.

Senior Matthew Sutherland and freshman Ryan Firpo led the Bulldogs on day one, both scoring 3-under 69. Firpo had a season-high four birdies in the round. The duo is tied for 15th on the leaderboard.

Senior Andrew Lee competed as an individual, finishing the day with a 2-over 72. Lee currently sits in 58th place.

Fresno State will tee off round two at 7:30 a.m. PT tomorrow, paired with Washington State and Pacific.
