FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State women's tennis team set to open conference play against the Aggies on Sunday morning at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center .Â
BULLDOG BONESÂ
- Fresno State opens Mountain West Conference play hosting the Utah State Aggies on SundayÂ
- Sunday's match is the first of three homestand conference matches for the 'Dogs and they will host Air Force and New Mexico in the following weeksÂ
- Fresno State returns back home on a four game losing streak, their last win coming in Feb. 25 against Cal PolyÂ
- Fresno State is 4-2at home this seasonÂ
- Since 2009, Fresno State leads the all-time meetings at 7-1. Aggies earned their first win in the series at  last meeting in LoganÂ
- This will be the eighth meeting in series history and the third meeting in FresnoÂ
- Carolina Piferi still holds sweeps at No. 1 (3-0) Â and No. 3 (6-0) singles this seasonÂ
- Bulldogs are also looking to get bring back the points on the double court
- First conference lineup will feature; Matilde Magrini, Misaki Kobayashi, Carolina Piferi, Eliza Dunbar, Hannah Pieper and Charlotte Gisclon.Â
- Carolina Piferi is the only Bulldog to earn Player of the Week marks thus farÂ
- *In the last three seasons Fresno State has won the conference opening matchÂ
CONFERENCE OUTLOOKÂ
- Last season the 'Dogs finished conference play with a 3-7 record Bulldogs also saw a quarterfinals appearance at Mountain West Championships against No. 2 UNLVÂ
- This season one MW team lands in the ITA team rankings this week, San Diego State No. 59, the Aztecs also see two ranked singles players
- New Mexico has seen the strongest non-conference record at 11-1
- Aggies opened their conference season in Logan on Friday against San Diego State, falling to the Aztecs. 2-4
- Utah State holds a single game win streak in the series after winning the last meeting in Logan, 4-3Â
- Aggies come to Fresno on a five match losing streak, with their last win coming on Feb. 18 in Montana, 4-3Â
- Veronika Golanova enters her first year leading the AggiesÂ
- Zeynep Naz Ozturk leads the Aggies at No. 1 singles with four wins and two lossesÂ
- Laura Fernanda comes undefeated at No. 3 singles, 4-0Â
