FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State track and field program will host the 81st edition of the West Coast Relays this weekend. The hammer throw and steeplechase will be contested on Friday afternoon at Warmerdam Field while all other events will take place on Saturday at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.
LAST TIME OUT
The men's and women's teams combined to pick up nine wins on the weekend at the Aggie Open two weeks ago. The women swept the throws with Jordyn Bryant claiming wins in the shot put and discus. The 'Dogs were dominant in the jumps, winning all four events in which they had entrants. The jumps saw the Bulldog men go 3-for-3.
STRONG START
With the outdoor season still young, senior Jordyn Bryant started strong at the Aggie Open, putting herself in the Top 15 in the NCAA in discus and shot put.

Fresno State's current group of Bulldogs entered 2024 holding 15 spots on the program's all-time Top 10 lists.Â
HEADING INTO OUTDOORS
Fresno State's women came into the outdoor season on a high, earning its best finish at the Mountain West Indoor Championships in program history. The Bulldogs placed third with 87 points.
INDOOR RECORDS FALLING
During the indoor season, five different records fell, a sign of things to come for the outdoor season.Â

- Bryant ranks No. 13 in the discus with a toss of 53.89m/176-10.

- Ten of those 15 come from five athletes who hold two each. Ceonna Pipion in the 200m and 400m. Madison Hutton in the long jump and heptathlon. Cierra Jackson in the shot put and discus. Jordyn Bryant in the shot put and discus. Jocelynn Budwig in the shot put and hammer.

Fresno State's women came into the outdoor season on a high, earning its best finish at the Mountain West Indoor Championships in program history. The Bulldogs placed third with 87 points.
- Nine Bulldogs earned all-conference honors.Â
- Rachela Pace (triple jump, long jump) and Ceonna Pipion (400m, 4x400 relay) were named all-conference in two events.
- Madison Hutton (pentathlon) was the Bulldogs' lone event winner at the championships.
INDOOR RECORDS FALLING
During the indoor season, five different records fell, a sign of things to come for the outdoor season.Â
- Three records came on the track, with two coming from Ceonna Pipion. The senior owns both the 200m (23.80) and 400m (52.90). The third came from Corie Smith in the 5,000m (17:21.96).
- USTFCCCA Second Team All-American  Rachela Pace claimed the triple jump mark (13.40m/43-11.75) while Cierra Jackson reset her record in the shot put (16.86m/55-3.75)
