FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team completed the series sweep over the Nevada Wolf Pack on Sunday afternoon at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium with a 16-3 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wolf Pack led the game off with a triple and sac fly to score the first run of the game. A Ben Newton RBI single quickly evened the score in the bottom of the first, scoring Eddie Saldivar.

Nevada pushed ahead in the third by a run, but Fresno State quickly bounced back, scoring two from a Murf Gray sac fly and Newton RBI double.

The game was tied for the final time in the fourth after a Wolf Pack home run. The Bulldog offense exploded in the bottom of the frame with seven runs scored including home runs from Justin Stransky and Rocco Peppi.

The Diamond 'Dogs continued to press on in the fifth as Tommy Hopfe led the charge with a solo shot to lead off the inning. Fresno State scored five runs in the inning on only two hits.

Ben Newton drove in Murf Gray for the Bulldogs' 16th and final run of the day in the sixth. Nevada was not able to recover from the 13-run deficit and the contest was cut short due to a Mountain West-set mercy rule.

NOTES

The Bulldogs have secured back-to-back sweeps over Mountain West opponents after winning three straight against UNLV in Las Vegas last weekend.
Fresno State has yet to lose a series this season.
With an eight-game MW winning streak, the Bulldogs are in first place in the conference, up by 3.5 games.
