FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Tennis team saw three student-athletes earn recognitions by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) to the 2023-24 Academic All-District®  Division I team this week.
CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swim and dive honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
The Bulldogs represented on the team include seniors Carolina Piferi & Misaki Kobayashi and sophomore Mariya Vyshkina.Â
Each student-athlete selected is at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and carries a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50. Student-athletes selected must also be a consistent contributor on the field, having competed in at least 70 percent of the institution's competitions.Â
On the academic side, the Italian native, Piferi earned a 4.0 GPA and will be graduating this spring with a degree in Mass Communications and Journalism with an emphasis in  Public Relations. Kobayashi, the senior transfer, earned a 3.75 GPA and will also be recognized after earning a certificate in Educational Tech. Vyshkina holds a 3.53 GPA and is majoring in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Administration.Â
