Back for more
Fresno State's lone individual gold medalist from last season's Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Championships returns for more this season as Liz Tarczy enters her junior campaign with a high ceiling. With just two seasons under her belt, Tarczy took bronze in the high jump as a freshman and gold in her sophomore campaign. She's currently second all-time with a jump of 1.80m (5-10.75) in the indoor high jump.
Â
The pentathlon duo returns
Ella Spaulding and Madison Hutton return in the pentathlon for Fresno State. In last year's MW indoor championships, Spaulding took third in the pentathlon with a career-best 3,813 points. That would be enough for third all-time at Fresno State. In that number two spot of the program's all-time bests list is Hutton who took third at the 2023 indoor championships with a score of 3,984. Hutton won the indoor pentathlon in 2024, and redshirted last season. The senior returns for her final indoor season, looking to reclaim the gold.
Â
Welcome to the fam
Fresno State added Western Kentucky transfer Nayla Martin this off season. Martin spent one season at WKU, and competed in two indoor meets while setting a PR in the mile with a 4:57 time and taking second at the Bellarmine Classic. Martin was one of the top middle distance runners in Quebec, Canada, and a member of Team Quebec from 2021-23.
