Andress responded with her second goal of the morning but Marist again erased the lead to tie it with 4:40 on the clock. Riaan Bryant and Marit van der Kolk added Bulldog goals on 6-on-5 chances, and Marist added its third of the game to make it a 4-3 game at the end of the first.
Â
Marist tied the game in the first minute of the second quarter, and took its first lead not long after. Trailing 5-4, Bryant scored off the assist from Susanna Martinez to tie the game again. The back-and-forth battle continued as Marist retook its lead with 3:05 left before halftime. Martinez evened the score again and sparked a Bulldog scoring run as the 'Dogs went on to score three unanswered, giving a buffer before halftime. Fresno State had a 8-7 lead at the break.
