The 2021 season will be Taylor Pope's second season with the Bulldogs as an offensive graduate assistant. His position group focus will remain with the wide receivers in year two at Fresno State.Â
Pope played collegiate football at Boise State from 2012-16, appearing mostly on special teams in his time with the Broncos. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2016.Â
After receiving his degree from Boise State, Pope wanted to pursue the coaching route and went on to join the staff at Xavier College Preparatory High School in Palm Desert, Calif., in 2017. Pope was brought on by newly-hired head coach James Dockery who sought out Pope in hopes of filling vacant positions with coaches who had played locally and knew how to win.Â
At the high school level, Pope was a two-time first team All-Desert Valley League and All-Desert Sun selection. He was also named the Desert Valley League Special Teams Most Valuable Player as a junior.Â
Pope will work closely with wide receivers coach Kirby Moore. The pair spent two years together at Boise State.Â
