2022 (SENIOR*): All Mountain West honorable mention tight end … appeared in all 14 games, started five … had 21 receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns … had a season-high 42 yards at Boise State (Oct. 8) … scored touchdowns against Cal Poly (Sept. 1) and at Nevada (Nov. 19) … had a season-high four receptions against Washington State in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl (Dec. 17) … four receptions in a game tied his career-high … led the team in receiving yards in the Oct. 8 game at Boise State … helped in the pass and run protection schemes … had the most receiving yards in a season by a Bulldog tight end since 2019 … preseason honors included being a fourth team All-MW selection by Phil Steele ... utilized the additional year of eligibility approved by the NCAA in the fall of 2020. 2021 (SENIOR): Appeared in all 13 games and started in four … had 17 receptions for 126 yards and two touchdowns … averaged 7.4 yards per catch … had a career-long reception of 23 yards against New Mexico (Nov. 13) … scored his first touchdown as a Bulldog in the season opener against UConn (Aug. 28) … had a career-best four receptions in the PUBG Mobile New Mexico Bowl versus UTEP (Dec. 18) … had a career-best 31 yards receiving against New Mexico, where he scored his second touchdown of the season … had one kick return for 10 yards at San Jose State (Nov. 25) … Pauwels played a big role in blocking for the run game as well this season … helped Fresno State to two wins over ranked opponents, both on the road. It was the first time Fresno State defeated two Top 25 opponents in a season for the first time since 2004, and the first time both wins came on the road in the 100 year history of the program.
2020 (R-JUNIOR): Played in five games … was the starting tight end in four games … had two receptions for 16 yards … has a season-long 12-yard catch at UNLV (Nov. 7) … had a tackle against New Mexico (Dec. 12) ... named to the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team.
2019 (JUNIOR): Appeared in four games in his first year as a Bulldog … did not record any stats … utilized a redshirt season.
PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE: Pauwels spent the past two seasons at Glendale Community College in Arizona ... was a first-team all-Western State Football League selection ... Pauwels is a three-star recruit and ranked as the nation’s No. 7 junior college tight end by 247 Sports ... tallied 56 receptions for 612 yards and a touchdown this fall for Glendale Community College in Arizona ... ranked first in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) in receptions and was fifth in receiving yards and yards per game (55.6) ... tallied at least one reception in all 11 games in 2018 tallying a season-high nine twice and a season-best 82 receiving yards in the regular season finale at Scottsdale CC ... caught lone touchdown of season in a 52-28 win against Phoenix College.
HIGH SCHOOL: Pauwels is a native of Litchfield Park, Ariz., where he was a 2017 graduate of Millennium High School ... notched 37 receptions for 449 yards and six touchdowns as a senior in 2016 for the Tigers … was a All-Conference and All-Region selection.
PERSONAL: Born in Litchfield Park, Ariz. … son of Ray and Linda Pauwels … has a younger brother, Nathan … his hobbies include riding ATV’s and doing anything outdoors … his favorite athlete is JJ Watt because he is always the hardest worker in the room, he changes lives off the football field and he is always in the media for good things … biggest athletic thrill is scoring touchdowns or making a big-time catch … was also recruited by Northern Arizona and Boise State … is a criminology - law enforcement major … chose to become a Bulldog because it felt like home, fit his style of play best and he wanted to be a part of the team’s rise.Head Coach’s remark on Pauwels...

Losing 3 tight ends to graduation we prioritized junior college tight ends and really liked what Raymond brings to the table as a blocker and receiver.
