-- Tulsa head coach Keith Burns --
"I'm disappointed in the way we played in the first half. They seized the momentum early. I thought we could take advantage of the energy we had after last week, but we didn't. We just didn't have it. The blocked kick really turned the momentum. Their offense moved the ball. Early on, we had some self-inflicted wounds, penalties and turnovers. Those cost us."
"The field conditions weren't that bad. We've had experience in bad weather. Our first game [against North Carolina], we had bad weather. Last week against TCU, it rained the entire game. I just give credit to Coach Hill. He really had his team ready to play tonight."
"The blocked punt was huge. That was a huge momentum swing in this game. Our kicking game had been one of our strengths coming into the game. It had been consistent. Tonight, it let us down."
-- Fresno State head coach Pat Hill --
"I think we played a very good first half. I was really pleased with the execution. In the second half, when you start to play as many players as we did, you start to lose your edge. We needed to win this game, and I thought we did a good job of going out and taking control of the game. In the second half, we didn't play with the same intensity as we did in the first half, but the urgency wasn't there. I'm very happy about the way we bounced back. This was a tough week this week. The team was down about that game at UTEP. The way we played this game in the first half showed these kids have a lot of character. Our big thing was to get the win and be 1-0 this week, and that's all the mattered, and they went out and did that. And they did it very, very well."
