Wrestling Has Fine Showing at Season Opener Tournament

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State had seven wrestlers place in the top four of their respective divisions at the Cal State Fullerton Open on Saturday. Team results were not tabulated.
The Bulldogs took home one first place finish compliments of junior Clint Walbeck, who went 4-0 with a decision, major decision and two defaults in the heavyweight division.
Senior Casey Olson took second in the 149 division, his only loss a 6-4 decision to Cal State Fullerton's Brett Gordon in the finals.
Redshirt freshmen Christian Bowerman and Shane Seibert took third in the 125 and 157 divsions, respectively. Sean Sheets, Greg Gifford and Sandeep Singh took fourth place respectively in the 165, 184 and 197 divisions.
Former Bulldog Eddie Gifford won the 174 division wrestling unattached. Gifford completed four seasons with Fresno State in 2003.
