Men's Tennis Sweeps Past UC Davis 7-0

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State made it two-for-two on Sunday with a 7-0 win over UC Davis at the Wathen Tennis Center. The win improved Fresno State to 6-4 on the year, including 5-0 in home matches. Earlier on Sunday, the Bulldogs defeated UC Santa Cruz 7-0.
Fresno State opened with a 1-0 lead after taking two of the three doubles matches. The teams of Suta and Shearer at No. 2 and Krohn and O'Rourke at No. 3 both won handily.
In singles, the Bulldogs breezed with straight-set victories in all six matches. At No. 1, Hector Almada ran his record to 15-5 (6-2 dual) with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Greg Lee. Stefan Suta was another highlight, winning his 19th match of the year with a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Paul Dilloway.
Other Bulldogs winning two singles matches on Sunday were Greg Shearer at No. 3, Alex Krohn at No. 4 and Marc Schaerer at No. 5.
Fresno State takes next week off before hitting the road March 7 to play No. 10 Washington.
