Marianne Jodoin named Fresno State Athlete of the Week

The No. 60 Fresno State women's tennis team defeated BYU, 4-3 on Mar. 3 at the Wathen Tennis Center. Marianne Jodoin and Bianca Modoc added their first victory together to their resume by defeating the No. 78 nationally ranked doubles team Callie Craig and Megan Price, 8-5 from BYU. Starting singles off with a sweep of her competition, Jodoin swept Megan Price in both sets, bringing the Dogs score 2-0. On Mar. 4, Jodoin and Modoc advanced their doubles record together to 2-1 after defeating the Rebels' Nives Pavlovic and Aleksandra Josifoska, 8-6. Competing on court one, Marianne Jodoin played against No. 68 singles player Lucia Batta. Taking the first set to her advantage, 6-1 Jodoin kept her eyes on the win. Being swept in the second set Jodoin rallied back and defeated Batta earning the Bulldogs their third point for the day. Jodoin was also named Verizon WAC Tennis Players of the Week on Wednesday.
