Dogs Conclude Mondo Challenge

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge Saturday night with a strong effort in Sacramento, Calif.
The Bulldogs faced several top mid-major schools, including Wichita State, Portland State, Utah State, Sacramento State, UC Davis, Central Michigan and Nevada.
"We had an all-around good weekend," Head coach Scott Winsor said. "We became unified as a group and recorded a lot of PRs against strong competition."
Junior Latrisha Jordan took home the 400-meter hurdles title with a time of 1:00.25 and sophomore Breeauna Thompson finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.55.
Fresno State won the 4x400-meter relay, with the team of Tiera Hilliard, Breeauna Thompson, Alyson De La Rosa and Taylor Jackson finishing in 3:44.30. Andrea Greenman finished fourth in the pole vault, clearing 11-09.75.
Sophomore J'Quyra Moncur-Blue won the hammer throw with a distance of 58.61 and Jacqueline Vazquez finished fourth in the javelin throw with a distance of 42.20. In the women's heptathlon, Taylor Jackson finished fourth and Sarah Una'Dia finished fifth.
On the men's side, junior Remington Blair won the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.16 and sophomore Cameron Parker finished fourth in the 200-meter dash and finished fifth in the 100-meter.
In the 1500-meter, Eric Battles had a personal best 3:54.09 to finish fourth overall and Paul Zwama finished third in the 5000-meter and Danny Vartanian placed fourth in the 5000-meter.
Fresno State won the 4x400-meter relay with the team of Kendrick Young, Jordan Walker, John Jamieson and Remington Blair finishing in a time of 3:14.86.
Junior Emmanuel Jackson won the triple jump with a distance of 14.73 and Raul Gonzales won the hammer throw with a distance of 55.91. David Deal finished third in the decathlon with a score of 6682.
