On tonight's game vs. UCSB…
"I thought it was a close game. Santa Barbara did a good job. They made a run in the third quarter, and we bounced back towards the end. Early in the fourth quarter, I thought we did a good job running the offense and getting the ball in to the paint. I thought our press looked good at times. I didn't think we shot all that great, we shot 50 percent from the three at University of the Pacific, and we shot 10 percent from 3-point range tonight. We shot 27 percent from the free throw line and we lost by one. I don't know if there is much more to say about it other than it is unfortunate and we had a chance to win."
On the 'Dogs performance…
"I thought we did a good job sticking to the game plan. I thought we knew that girl could shoot, and we just lost her a couple times. We just didn't shoot that well. You get an open shot, and you have got to knock them down. We wanted to get to the foul line towards the end, and I thought we did a good job running it. We were just one point short."
On keeping up with UCSB…
"Their two guards are really quick. I think they have a pretty solid team. They have their two quick guards, two good shooters, and the big size inside. I thought we did a good job at drawing some fouls. I just thought that we really got hurt early in transition. We knew that was going to be something to pay attention to. It is frustrating, and it has been a long week for us. We have been off for seven days now, we just got done with finals, but excuses are excuses, its no reason not to come to play."
Junior center Bego Faz Davalos
On the crazy emotions of the game…
"We knew we had to get back on defense, it wasn't over until it was over. We will learn from it. My teammates did a good job at seeing that they were double-teaming me. They waited and saw when I was open and passed me the ball when they could. I just had to wait for the right pass to happen."
Senior guard Emilie Volk
On why this game is emotional…
"It is our last home game of non-conference before Christmas Break, and we had a two game winning streak going. It is a tough loss. It leaves a bad taste in our mouth to leave Save Mart Center and have to travel after this."
