Notes:
• The Bulldogs teed off their season at the USF Olympic Invitational in San Francisco (Sept. 12-13) and followed with the Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins, Colo. (Sept. 19-20). The Bulldogs tied for seventh in the opener (879) and claimed sole possession of seventh in Colorado (866).
- Trevor Clayton was the Bulldogs' top finisher at the USF Olympic Invitational, tying for 10th at 3-over-par (68-74-74=216)
- Justin Avery and Alex Lee tied for the Bulldogs' top finish at the Ram Masters Invitational, tying for 14th at 4-over-par, respectively.
• The Bulldogs will host the Nick Watney Invitational for the third time; it will be the 53rd Fresno State home-hosted tournament since former golf coach Larry Pape led the program in the 1960's.
• The Bulldogs have won their home tournament six times – the last being in 2002 when Nick Watney was a member of the team.
• Fresno State has been the Nick Watney Invitational runner-up in years one and two of the event.
• The Nick Watney Invitational has been on the move around Fresno since the inaugural event was at Sunnyside Country Club. Year two was at Fort Washington Country Club and the 2016 edition will be at San Joaquin Country Club.
• Trevor Clayton led the Bulldogs in the month of September by carding half of his scores par-or-better during the month – averaging a 72.00 over six rounds.
• Clayton finished the USF Invitational 3-over-par (216) and claimed his fifth career top 10 finish in just 13 career tournaments as a Bulldog.
• Justin Avery owns the second-lowest September card for the 'Dogs, averaging a 72.33 score over six rounds. Alike Clayton, Avery has fired scores par-or-better in three of his six rounds played.
• Alex Lee owns a 72.83 scoring average after six rounds, while Greg Gildea (73.67) and Cody Neal (79.00) round out the five participants of the first two tournaments.
• Weather at the Nick Watney Invitational on Monday (High 70F, Low 50F) is forecasted to have a 10 percent chance of rain and 10-15 mph winds; Tuesday (High 75F, Low 52F) is forecasted to have a zero percent chance of rain and 5-10 mph winds.
