With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 11-8 overall, 4-4 in Mountain West play as they snapped a two-game losing skid. The 'Dogs were led in scoring by a season-high 21 points from redshirt sophomore guard Tory Jacobs who went 7-of-14 from the field and sank a season-best six free throws. The Minnesota transfer added four assists and a season-high four steals in 39 minutes of action.
In addition to Jacobs' outstanding effort, junior center Bego Faz Davalos posted her 14th double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds as she tied her own single-season program mark for double-doubles set in 2015-16. Faz Davalos now has 30 career double-doubles as she moves into a tie with Omelogo Udeze (2000-03) for the second-most in program history. Faz Davalos went 9-of-12 from the field and added five blocks, two assists and a steal. Despite being limited to a season-low 20 minutes of action, sophomore guard Candice White scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers and added eight rebounds and a steal.
Nevada (7-11, 1-6 MW) was led on the afternoon by the forward AJ Cephas with a double-double effort as the sophomore led the Wolf Pack with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Halie Bergman, a Turlock native, contributed nine points and five rebounds off the bench. The 'Dogs held Nevada to 33.3 percent (20-60) shooting from the field and 25 percent (6-24) from behind the arc.
How It happened: Falling behind 16-12 after the first quarter, the 'Dogs got off to a slow start offensively converting only 1-of-9 from the field to start the game before hitting back-to-back 3-pointers from White put the Bulldogs up 8-5 before she picked up her second foul with 4:08 left in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs opened the second quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 20-18 lead after a jumper by Jacobs, but back-to-back 3-pointers by Nevada's Desirae Gonzalez sparked a 13-2 run from the Wolf Pack as they led 31-22 with 2:13 remaining in the half. With the visitors taking a 34-26 lead into halftime, the 'Dogs started the second half on a 12-4 run to tie the game at 38 apiece and ended the third quarter scoring seven of the final 10 points to take a 45-42 lead into the final frame.
Continuing its strong play into the fourth quarter, a jumper by Jacobs with 6:52 remaining put the Bulldogs up 56-45 and maintained at least a seven-point edge the remainder of the contest. The 'Dogs outscored Nevada 42-20 in the second half holding the Wolf Pack to 28.6 percent (8-28) from the field.

Quotable:
Jaime White, Fresno State head coach
Opening statement…
"We had a little bit of layover from the Colorado State game, but Nevada is a good team. Not quite pleased with our rebounding and foul trouble. We mixed it up in the second half and I think our kids really answered the call."
On defensive response in second half…
"I felt like our pressure the entire game kind of wore them out. We got some steals and stops in the second half that gave us some breathing room to put us in the lead. Sometimes we get leads and we get comfortable, and we just had to finish."
Tory Jacobs, sophomore guard
On what the locker room was like at halftime…
"Rebounding was a key focus at halftime, because they were outrebounding us by about 13 at that point. We had to make sure to get stops. They scored their last seven possessions in a row and that doesn't usually happen."
On if they fed off of being down at halftime…
"I think our defense focus is much better when we are down because now we are trying to come back and win the game, but I don't think the coach likes it too much when we start off like that."
Candice White, sophomore guard
On whether or not she was eager to get back on the court after halftime....
"I was, after halftime I sensed that we weren't necessarily down, but much more quiet. We started to lose communication just because of the fact that we weren't outrebounding them. So, I looked to be a spark for the team and try to get some energy going."
